Switching gears

After trying to figure out what to do with this site for over a year now, I've decided to focus my efforts on a new endeavor: Reading the Bogotá 39.

I've lived past my year of academic coursework, found a comfortable corner for my books, and have finally renewed my library card at the local branch of el Banco de la República. I'm ready to get back into my reading and learn what I can about what's been happening in Latin American literature lately. There are enormous amounts of catching up to do, but I'm looking forward to exploring new books and authors, and finding out more about what's been happening on the translation front.

just watched 84 Charring Cross Road and thought of you. Fill me in on your current life when you get a chance. Better yet, come join the Facebook party! seriously, get a FB account. I only have like 3 friends who understand my literary allusions and quotes. I know you're probably not into that sort of thing, but I'm here to say, if you care about me at all...nay, if you care about JESUS at all...you'll come over there! :-D
hope all is well...

Fine work from Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins too.

Yeah, I really like that film. It's a pity so few people these days have that sort of patience.

I sent you an invite as soon as I saw this comment, Brook...you're making me nervous with all this delay! ;)
